Sterling Massage Chair Warranties
Introduction

For many years, Sterling has been developing and hand-building luxury massage chairs and equipment to the most exacting standards.

The Sterling and Sterling Silver massage chair brands have been developed by XSIS (Xiamen Shanghai Industrial Securities) for United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland. The Sterling brand is applied only to massage chairs and equipment that have been specially built to comply fully with all United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland regulations. It is important to note that Sterling massage chairs are different in many essential respects to chairs supplied to other European countries, America and the rest of the world, which may not built to the same commercial standards.

The following special warranty terms and conditions are applicable to the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.

‘Full Parts and Labour’ Warranties

In the unlikely event that a defect occurs to your Sterling massage chair we will replace and install the defective part free of charge, provided that the defect results solely from poor workmanship, design or materials and subject always to the terms of our warranty.
Sterling warranties offer a substantial additional benefit to you and do not in any way affect your existing statutory rights.

Warranty Periods

Sterling Warranties are valid for the following periods only:-

Sterling Standard ‘Parts and Labour’ massage chair warranty.

One year where the massage chair has been used solely for domestic, private and household purposes only.

Six months or first fault, which ever is the later, where the massage chair has been used at any time whatsoever for or in trade or commerce and the commercial use has been disclosed to and confirmed by the supplier at the time of purchase.

Sterling Silver Extended ‘Parts and Labour’ massage chair warranty.

Five years where the massage chair has been used solely for domestic, private and household purposes only.

One year or first fault, which ever is the later, where the massage chair has been used at any time whatsoever for or in trade or commerce and the commercial use has been disclosed to and confirmed by the supplier at the time of purchase.

The period of the warranty commences from the date of the massage chairs delivery to the original purchaser which must be confirmed by the original supplier. Any replacements made under the terms and conditions of this warranty do not in any way alter or further extend the terms and conditions of this warranty.

Warranty Cover

The one year Sterling standard warranty and five year Sterling Silver extended warranty are freely available to the original purchasing individual or individuals only, however in return, please note that the following terms and conditions apply:-

The Sterling Silver five year extended warranty applies only to Sterling Silver massage chairs, although the same cover may be obtained for other Sterling chairs for an additional payment. (You will need to arrange this with your supplier)

It is a condition of the warranty that all repairs or replacements are carried out by a Sterling approved engineer. This is because only a Sterling engineer has appropriate knowledge and experience of the latest developments and techniques used in the building and repair of Sterling chairs.

The warranty applies to material, design and manufacturing defects or faults only.

The Sterling Silver extended warranty is only applicable to refurbished massage chairs or ex-showroom display models when confirmed in writing on the invoice or sales receipt issued by the supplier at the time of purchase. The period of the warranty may be reduced for refurbished massage chairs or ex-showroom display models.

Any liability of Sterling in respect of, or in any way related to the massage chair will, in so far as the same may be legally be done, be limited to the cost of replacement of defective parts and the repair of any damage caused to other parts of the chair as a result of the original fault or defect.

Sterling warranties cover the cost of all parts and labour to repair any fault or defect provided that the defect results solely from poor workmanship, design or materials and subject always to the terms and conditions of this warranty. Any defective parts replaced under warranty will be deemed to be the property of Sterling.

Sterling reserve the right to inspect and test the defective parts, the subject of any claim under this warranty for the purpose of determining the validity of any such claim and shall be entitled to require conclusive evidence that the defect is the sole result of poor workmanship, design or materials within the terms of this warranty.

While Sterling attempts to have all necessary spare parts available for the purpose of work required by this warranty, at times there may be delays due to unusual parts being required or circumstances beyond their control.

Exclusions from the Warranty

The warranty covers normal domestic use only and does not cover faults caused by factors outside Sterling’s control, including:

• failure to follow Sterling’s installation and use instructions
• inappropriate use and/or cleaning
• accidental and/or wilful damage
• relocation of the massage chair from the original delivery address unless this has been approved by the original supplier prior to relocation.

The warranty will be valid only if installation, use and maintenance have been carried out in accordance with the supplied instructions.

The warranty does not extend to parts which become unserviceable as a result of normal wear and tear to the massage chair nor any defects to the upholstery, cushions or polished wooden parts unless caused during the original manufacture and/or assembly of the chair.

The guarantee does not cover any product that has been modified, altered, transformed or relocated in any way, without Sterling’s prior consent.

This warranty does not cover any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage or the costs of return of the chair to the dealers premises.

Any other type of claim whatsoever, whether in respect of nullifications, depreciation, the replacement of the chair, consequential loss howsoever arising and claims in respect of personal injury are hereby expressly excluded from this warranty.

The benefit of this warranty cannot be transferred to a third party except when previously agreed and subsequently confirmed in writing.

Claiming Under the Warranty

To claim under this warranty during the warranty period the original purchaser must contact their original supplier within 30 days of the fault occurring. If the fault is not resolved, the chair should be returned to Sterling or the original supplier and at our discretion we will either refund (up to but not in excess of) the original purchase price, or repair the product, or provide a similar massage chair replacement. This shall be Sterling's sole obligation under this guarantee, which excludes any claim for consequential loss or damage.

If a claim is made under this guarantee and the defect is found not to be due to faulty materials or manufacture, Sterling reserve the right to charge the customer at the current hourly rate and list prices in respect of any collection or delivery costs, their Service Engineer's time including any travel time and any replacement parts supplied.

Upon being replaced, under the terms of the warranty any defective parts shall become the property of Sterling.

Warranty Registration

The Sterling Silver Extended warranty is available free to original purchasing individuals only, who have completed the extended warranty registration procedure by completing and returning the card supplied with the chair (or by registering online at www.sterling-massage-chairs.co.uk.) within 30 days of purchase.

It is most important that you complete this registration procedure to ensure that you can obtain the benefit of the extended warranty.

In order to offer this extended warranty Sterling require certain information. When you provide this information you will be issued with an individually numbered ‘Warranty Claim Card’ and a stock or serial number label which must be immediately fixed to the chassis of the chair for the warranty to become valid and effective.

If you do not receive your Warranty Claim card within fourteen days of registration please contact your supplier.

During the registration procedure you will be required to confirm that you have tested the chair and that it appears to be in good working order and condition at that time. If there is any damage to you chair on delivery please arrange repair or replacement with your supplier before completing and returning the warranty registration card.
